Events Intelligence - FIRST LOOK
With close to 2000 publisher events identified, analysed and uploaded to the Contalto app, it's time we shared a little insight.
Let's start with Event Type: one of the 30+ data points collected for each event...
Combining in-person and hybrid events, 71% of these bring people together in one location to connect and interact around a common topic or theme
While 29% of all events are virtual, this rises to 53% of custom events
Custom events, usually conceived and executed for a single sponsor, account for a third of the total, though this varies between 0% and 60% depending on the publisher
39% of events are multi-year, i.e. repeat fixtures in the respective publisher's events calendar, meaning that 6-in-10 events are new each year
Event Topics & Themes
Contalto classifies each event on the basis of 24 broad topics and close to 200 specific themes.
Business is the number one topic overall, and prominent business themes include leadership and the c-suite, as well as startups and entrepreneurs
Technology would have topped the list, but we split out AI as its own (very hot) event topic
Event Sponsors
We assign all event-sponsoring brands to their respective sector, sub-sector and country of origin, which has kept us busy, as many of these 2500+ brands are new, i.e. active in events and not found in our branded content coverage.
Banking, Finance and Insurance brands are prolific event sponsors, with wealth and asset management companies as the number one sub-sector
Ticketed events have an average of 6 sponsors per event, but can total 50+ for the largest conferences
